Potato Falls
(Gurney WI)

Potato Falls is off WI-169 (which is just off US-2), just south of the town of Gurney (WI-169 is 21 miles east of Ashland). There are two sets of cataracts here on the Potato River. The upper one drops about 90 feet and the lower about 35 feet.

How to get there:

From Duluth-Superior, follow US-2/53 east/south. Just before the Wisconsin Welcome Center the highway becomes a freeway. Five miles later the freeway ends, US-53 goes south and US-2 exits and heads east. Take US-2 through Ashland (about 56 miles) and continue another 21 miles to Cedar and WI-169. Turn right and follow 169 through Gurney to the Potato River.
