Amnicon Falls

Amnicon Falls is in Amnicon Falls State Park, just off US-2 east of the US-2 exit at the end of the US-2/53 freeway (about 15 miles east of Duluth-Superior). A sought after attraction here is an old, wooden covered bridge: the old road crossing the Amnicon River.

Actually Amnicon Falls is a cataract about 70 feet long with a vertical drop of about 28 feet (we weren't able to get precise measurements), it is accessed by a short, easy trail.

How to get there:

From Duluth-Superior, follow US-2/53 east/south. Just before the Wisconsin Welcome Center the highway becomes a freeway. Five miles later the freeway ends, US-53 goes south and US-2 exits and heads east. Take US-2 and the entrance to the park is just a few hundred yards down the road on your left.
