Burgess Falls
Burgess Falls State Natural Area TN
(south of Cookeville)

Burgess Falls State Natural Area is not just a sanctuary for Tennessee fauna and flora, it is the site of a unique waterfall. Technically a cascade, Burgess Falls spills over an extension of the surrounding cliff giving the appearance of a fountain rather than a waterfall. In March and April the effect is awesome!

There are many trails in the park varying from easy to moderate in challenge. There are a couple dozen picnic tables available and this is a great place to relax. Cycling is prohibited in the park. The park is open only during daylight hours but there is nothing to see after dark, anyway.

From I-40 take exit 286 and follow TN-135 south for about 7 miles. The park has easy to see signs.
