Oconee Station Falls
Oconee Station SC

Here is a great day trip. Located in the once Federal - and now State owned - Oconee Station (once a 18th century Indian trading post - building still standing). The Oconee Station Falls is a short hike from the Oconee Station Road and the trail is wide and easy to walk. Horses and bikes can use the trail that goes all the way to Oconee State Park. This is a long way in a car, but only about 2 miles up the mountain via the trail.) There are two separate parking areas; make this a short or longer hike.

Oconee Station is located just off Scenic Hwy 11- Foothills Scenic Hwy - about 4 miles above the towns of Walhalla and West Union, SC.

FYI for boaters. Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee have several waterfalls falling into the lakes and visible from a boat. Keowee Falls, also located off of Scenic Hwy 11, is a popular boating destination and is accessible from Keowee Falls Landing by car. Boaters can purchase maps of both lakes locally from most gas stations that have a lake waterfall map guide.
