The Waterfall at Chau-Ram County Park in Westminster SC is neat. You can drive right up to it, and it has lots of parking, a camping area, picnic area, and a swimming area. You can swim under the falls, hike to the middle and to the top of the falls. There is a playground overlooking the falls for the kids and several hiking trails around the park area. They have recently built a cable foot bridge over the Chauga River that is very impressive. Neat -- just away from the falls but still on site. There is also an island with a picnic area on it. Kids find the island very neat, and parents can get back to a little nature.

Chau-Ram is located just outside of Westminster, SC (about 5 miles) on US HWY 76 and about 15 miles from Clayton, GA. From I-85 take exit 1 to Westminster (Hwy 11/ Foothills Scenic Hwy). Follow signs to Westminster & to the Chau-Ram County Park.

FYI for boaters. Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee have several waterfalls falling into the lakes and visible from a boat. Keowee Falls, also located off of Scenic Hwy 11, is a popular boating destination and is accessible from Keowee Falls Landing by car. Boaters can purchase maps of both lakes locally from most gas stations that have a lake waterfall map guide.
