Falls of the Ohio State Park is one of the premiere fossil beds in the world. Though the Ohio River is impounded by a dam here, there is no waterfall of interest to waterfall seekers. Sorry.

We have included Falls of Ohio because of all the e-mails inquiring about it, - believing that it is a 'regular waterfall'. The Interpretive Center (small fee charged) is very interesting and features a 'trip back in time' to the age when this area was covered by a gigantic sea and the marine life eventually became fossils.

How to get there:

From I-65, take exit 0 (Clarksville) and head westbound to 201 West Riverside Drive. Yes, the park is right in the city of Clarksburg.
